MC & Jonathan // The Best of Richmond - Portrait Session

MC & Jonathan // The Best of Richmond - Portrait Session

While working on MC & Jonathan's portraits, I couldn't stop smiling. My cheeks and face hurt by the time I was done. These two are so incredibly in love, and happy together, and it truly shows. They found out just a few days before our session that they would be selling their house and moving to Texas, leaving this city that they love so dearly behind. Jonathan is now in Texas, while MC settles up everything here. I hope these pictures bring smiles to their faces, and help them feel closer and connected, until they can physically be together again.

This past weekend had left me an utter mess, with a vast sense of hopelessness. Sitting at my desk, trying to focus on work, and not look at my phone to get the latest update on the Orlando attack was nearly impossible. These portraits helped to get me through that, and reminded me that THIS is why I'm a photographer. Being there for the queer community, my community, and helping to create memories that will be cherished by couples and their families for years to come is incredibly humbling, important, and fills my heart with joy.

Karli & Tiff // Richmond VA Wedding

These two gorgeous and incredibly kind-hearted ladies did things a little differently. Karli & Tiff were married at the Poe Museum on a surprisingly warm late November day, in an intimate ceremony with only their closest family and friends. Oh, and their five children! Karli & Tiff had been together exactly 14 years on their wedding day, and have created a beautiful family together. Their ceremony was perfect. The words were deep and meaningful, and their kids ran around and chimed in at random times. It was beautiful and messy, just as life should be.

Brandy & Con // Richmond Virginia Epic Wedding

My heart is bursting with happiness for these two gorgeous and most wonderful people. Everything about Brandy & Con's wedding day was 100% authentic to themselves, and it was an amazing day of laughter, tears, and genuine heartfelt moments. Their reception was hosted by the one and only Natasha Carrington, there was a pole performance by one of their friends, Brandy's brothers used maxi-pads ('cause they couldn't find tape I guess, but it made it EVEN BETTER) to secure two barbies in a compromising position on the hood of the getaway car, and Josh at M.E.P.F.Z. brought the party with an epic photo booth.  It was the most untraditional of traditional celebrations, and it was absolutely perfect.
